Park and Ride

Annually Octoberfest draws 200,000+ attendees and we understand that parking can get congested, especially as the day progresses. Here are a few transportation options to consider:

VALLEY TRANSIT:  Valley Transit is offering $0.25 fares on all bus routes during Friday night's License to Cruise on Friday, September 28th, 2018, beginning at 3:45 p.m. Check out www.myvalleytransit.com for bus routes near your neighborhood or call 920-832-5800 to get route information from Valley Transit’s friendly dispatchers . Please note that there is no special service to Park & Ride lots on Friday.

The $0.25 fares are good again on all Valley Transit bus routes and from special Park & Ride locations on Saturday, September 29th, 2018, during Appleton's Octoberfest:

·         Fox Valley Technical College (bus pick up/drop off is at the bus shelter in East Lot near Entrance 1)

·         Appleton East High School (bus pick up/drop off is at the bus shelter on Schaefer Street)

·         Goodwill Industries – Menasha (bus pick up/drop off is at the bus shelter on Appleton Road. Please do not park in front of retail store!)

·         Valley Packaging – Roemer Road location (bus pick up/drop off is at the bus shelter near the building)

Valley Transit's special park & ride shuttles start after 8:45 AM on Saturday and run a continuous loop from downtown Appleton to each lot. Service is approximately every 30 minutes but may be closer to 45 minutes during peak times (late morning and late afternoon) due to heavy traffic downtown. This special shuttle service ends at 6:30 PM on Saturday, but regular bus route service will continue.  Last route buses will depart the Transit Center at 9:15 p.m. and 9:45 p.m.

All Valley Transit rides will drop off and reload at the Transit Center on Washington Street (next to the Appleton Public Library).

UBER, LYFT and CAB Zone:  Catch your Cab/Taxi, UBER and LYFT safely on Washington Street from Oneida Street west to Appleton Street. This is only one block north of the event. This is also where charter buses will load and unload passengers. Appleton Yellow Taxi Co. is one the cab/taxi companies that will be offering their services to/from this area.

LYFT Discount

Anyone using the promo code DILLYDILLY can receive a $5 discount on their LYFT.

SHUTTLE FROM KIMBERLY:  Tanner’s Grill and Bar in Kimberly will offer a continuous shuttle on Saturday during Octoberfest from 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM.  For only $5 a person you get unlimited trips back and forth from Tanners to downtown, coupons for 10% off Tanners food, and a free domestic tap beer at Mill Creek!  Their bus picks up in the front parking lot of Tanner’s and drops off at the designated area on Washington Street from Oneida Street west to Appleton Street.

ACCESSIBILITY NEEDS:  Attendees with accessibility needs can find convenient parking and access to the event by using one of the City of Appleton parking ramps. For more information on ramp locations please see the Event Map tab on this website.

BIKE PARKING:  Fox Cities Cycling Association and Appleton Bicycle Shop will be offering a bike parking lot at 121 South State Street. It will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m on Saturday during Octoberfest.

NOT FROM THE AREA?  No problem!  Lamers Bus Lines provides a daily route service (Lamers Connect) between Green Bay and Madison, with stops in Appleton, Oshkosh, Fond Du Lac, Waupun, Beaver Dam, Columbus and Madison.  In addition to the Green Bay to Madison daily service Lamers Bus Lines also provides daily service between Wausau and Milwaukee with pick-ups and stops in Appleton, Oshkosh, Fond du Lac, Stevens Point and Waupaca. They load and unload in Appleton at Valley Transit's Transit Center (100 East Washington Avenue).  For more details visit www.GoLamers.com.
